Assistant Instructor- Chorus

Position Type: Part-Time / After-School

Compensation: $30 per hour

Schedule: Two afternoons per week during the school year, and additional rehearsals and performances.

Reports To: Performing Arts Director

Lowell Community Charter Public School (LCCPS) is seeking a passionate Middle School Chorus - Assistant Instructor to support our after-school vocal music program. This position is ideal for college-level music students interested in choral conducting, vocal pedagogy, or music education.

The Assistant Instructor will collaborate with the Performing Arts Director to deliver engaging, high-quality rehearsals and help foster a welcoming environment where students build musical skills and confidence.

• Assist with warm-ups, vocal exercises, and rehearsal activities
• Support sectionals and small-group instruction
• Reinforce rehearsal procedures and expectations
• Assist with attendance tracking and student supervision
• Support concert preparation and performances
• Set up and break down rehearsal spaces as needed
• Communicate professionally with students and staff
• Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment

• Current college student or recent graduate majoring in music education, vocal performance, choral conducting, or a related discipline
• Strong vocal skills and music-reading ability required
• Ability to collaborate and take direction from the lead instructor
• Reliable availability for twice-weekly after-school sessions
• Prior experience working with youth preferred
• Background check clearance required
