PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Overview:
The Business Technology teacher will provide high-quality, hands-on instruction, motivation, and mentoring to students in grades 9-12 as they master the occupational skills identified in the DESE Chapter 74 framework for the program.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Deliver standards-based instruction aligned with the Massachusetts Chapter 74 program framework
* Provide hands-on, project-based learning experiences to students
* Prepare students for industry-recognized credentials (IRCs) of value to employers
* Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
* Develop and implement curriculum, assessments, and instructional materials
* Manage classroom operations, equipment, and technology resources
* Collaborate with administrators, colleagues, and industry partners
* Participate in professional development opportunities
LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must possess a preliminary or professional Massachusetts Technical Teacher License to teach the Chapter 74 program or be eligible to be granted a waiver while completing the licensure requirements as listed below:
* Education:
Associate degree with 18 credits related to the subject matter/framework
* Work Experience:
4 years related to the subject matter/framework (bachelor's degree requires 3 years and master's degree 2 years of work experience)
* Industry Credentials:
None required
* Passing scores on DESE subject matter written and performance tests
* Passing score on either the DESE MTEL or VTEL literacy tests
