Therapeutic Classroom Special Education Teacher
Webster Public Schools is seeking qualified candidates for the position for Therapeutic Classroom Special Education Teacher at Bartlett High School.
The High School Therapeutic Classroom Special Education Teacher provides specialized academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional instruction/support to students with social‑emotional disabilities within a therapeutic classroom setting. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for creating a structured, supportive, and trauma‑sensitive environment that promotes emotional regulation, academic growth, social skills, and student independence.
Responsibilities include:
- differentiating instruction
- implementing accommodations and behavioral support strategies
- monitoring student progress
- writing progress reports
- conducting assessments
- ensuring compliance with IEPs
The Special Education Teacher collaborates with General Education Teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success and increase opportunities for inclusion when appropriate.
Strong classroom management, communication, collaboration, crisis intervention, and problem‑solving skills are essential. Experience supporting students with significant social‑emotional and behavioral needs is preferred.
