Part-Time STEM Program Instructor

Kids in Tech (KiT) | Greater Lowell
$20.00–$30.00 per hour | 8–20 hours per week

Kids in Tech is a nonprofit organization that provides hands‑on STEM education to youth from low‑income communities throughout Greater Lowell. Since 2016, we have empowered more than 9,000 students through after‑school programs, family STEM events, summer learning experiences, and community‑based innovation programs.

What You'll Do

As a STEM Program Instructor, you will lead engaging after‑school STEM clubs for students ages 8–14. Using the Kids in Tech curriculum, you will facilitate hands‑on learning experiences in areas such as robotics, coding, artificial intelligence, engineering, biotechnology, and entrepreneurship.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading interactive STEM lessons and activities

  • Serving as a positive mentor and role model

  • Preparing lesson materials and supplies

  • Supporting family engagement and special events

  • Tracking attendance and student participation

  • Collaborating with school and community partners

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 16 years old

  • Passion for STEM, technology, education, or youth development

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Reliable and dependable

  • Experience working with youth is a plus

  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply

Schedule & Location

This part‑time position runs from September 2026 through June 2027. September includes paid onboarding and training, with student programming beginning in October. Instructors typically work 8–20 hours per week and may be assigned to one or more program sites throughout Greater Lowell.

Hiring Process

Qualified candidates will participate in a phone screening followed by an interview with program leadership. Final candidates must successfully complete required pre‑employment screenings, including a CORI/SORI background check and drug screening.
