Position: On-Campus Student Orientation Leader (OL)
General SummaryOn-Campus Student Orientation Leaders help create a welcoming transition for new students to MCC, introducing them to the resources and support services available during New Student Orientation and Welcome Month programming.
Duties and Responsibilities- Work with the Office of Student Engagement and IDS 101 FYE classes.
- Assist with icebreakers, facilitate class discussions and activities, aid in student navigation around campus, and perform other related tasks as assigned.
- Engage with new students, fostering a sense of community and belonging at MCC.
- Participate in both in‑person and virtual orientation plans; a reliable computer with internet access is required.
- Attend mandatory training, multiple registration sessions, and the Orientation program throughout the summer.
- Be in good academic standing and exhibit positive student conduct.
- Maintain a minimum overall GPA of 2.0.
- Demonstrate an ability to quickly establish rapport and communicate well with students.
- Work comfortably with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Show good organizational, communication, and basic computing skills.
- Be willing to participate in both in‑person and virtual orientation plans.
- Availability to attend mandatory training, multiple registration sessions, and the Orientation program throughout the summer.
Location: Lowell and Bedford campuses.
Hours: Up to 18.5 hours per week, schedule to be determined upon hire.
Salary: $17.75 per hour, actual salary commensurate with academic background and experience.
