Position: Grades 9 - 12 K-5 Life Skills Special Education Teacher | Lowell, Massachusetts

Qualifications:

• State teaching certification (or eligibility) in Special Education or equivalent
• Experience working with students in grades K-12, especially within life skills or special education programs
• Strong classroom management and collaborative skills
• Ability to adapt curriculum for diverse learning needs
• Compassion, flexibility, and excellent communication abilities
• Experience with IEPs and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams is strongly preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement life skills curriculum for students in elementary, middle, and high school
• Adapt instructional materials and teaching methods to meet varying student abilities
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that builds confidence and independence
• Collaborate with fellow educators, therapists, and families to support student growth
• Track progress, provide feedback, and participate in IEP meetings
• Encourage critical thinking, social skills, personal care routines, and practical problem-solving
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all educational guidelines
