Job Description: Collegiate Charter School of Lowell is seeking an additional certified Special Education Teacher to co‑teach within the Grade 5 classes.

Duties and
Responsibilities include:
- Assist special‑education students with specifically designed instruction to provide equal educational opportunities.
- Participate in the pre‑referral process of special education.
- Prepare individualized education plans.
- Collaborate with school‑based related service providers.
- Collaborate with the team on curriculum and student needs.
- Assess educational needs using standardized tools, running records, and other informal assessments.
- Maintain complete records of reevaluation periods, required student documentation, and parent communication.
- Integrate technology into instruction.
- Provide differentiated instruction as needed.
- Implement school, district, and department policies.
- Create and manage effective communication with parents of special‑education students.
- Communicate with parents professionally and continuously regarding student progress.
- Implement school and department policies.
- Additional duties may be assigned without additional compensation or stipend.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in special education required.
- Commitment to ensuring academic success for all students.
- Experience working in an urban setting (preferred).
- Experience working with diverse student populations (preferred).
- Experience addressing the social, emotional, and academic needs of children.
- Knowledge of special‑education law related to the IEP process and FAPE.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply student performance data to instructional planning and execution.
Required license(s)/MTELs: ESE License:
Students with and without disabilities, K‑8 or 5‑12 and SEI endorsement; or passing the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL) including Communication and Literacy Skills and relevant subject matter knowledge tests.
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $62,000 to $82,000 per year (commensurate with education, licensure, and experience)
