Job DescriptionCollegiate Charter School of Lowell is searching for a long-term substitute to cover a planned maternity leave beginning in September 2026 and concluding in January 2027 (estimated). The position will be in a Grade 5 math and science classroom.
Collegiate Charter School of Lowell is a tuition‑free public charter academy, providing an academically challenging program in a safe, structured environment. CCSL opened in September 2013 and now serves students K‑12.
Our mission is to provide high‑quality education to a diverse student body, preparing all students for college and lifelong learning while strengthening civic and ethical values.
What You Will Do- Teach: Deliver engaging lessons and support student academic growth.
- Manage: Apply school and classroom rules, use preventive discipline, motivate students, communicate expectations, and maintain a positive classroom environment.
- Record: Observe, evaluate, report, and record students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
- Collaborate: Work with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators to address students’ behavioral or academic issues and celebrate successes.
- Commit: Demonstrate commitment by adhering to school policies, procedures, attendance, and punctuality guidelines.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher and fluency in the subject area to be taught.
- All required state certifications for the position.
- Completion of required reference and criminal background checks.
- Experience teaching grade 5 recommended.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
Position Type: Full‑Time
Salary: $32 to $37 per hour
