Teacher, Chemistry (9-12)
Lowell Public School District – Lowell High School 9-12 – Lowell, Massachusetts
Job is open to external candidates after April 11, 2026 (internal transfer only before that).
Performance Responsibilities- Remain up-to-date regarding curriculum content.
- Plan instruction and assessment of student learning effectively.
- Monitor students’ understanding of the curriculum and adjust instruction, materials, or assessments when appropriate.
- Create an environment that is positive for student learning and involvement.
- Maintain appropriate standards of behavior, mutual respect and safety.
- Make learning goals clear to students.
- Use appropriate instruction and questioning techniques.
- Evaluate, try innovative approaches and refine instructional strategies, including effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence.
- Communicate learning goals and high standards and expectations to students.
- Promote confidence and perseverance, stimulating increased personal responsibility for achieving curriculum goals.
- Strive to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning.
- Demonstrate appreciation for and sensitivity to the diversity among individuals.
- Be constructive and cooperative in interactions with parents and receptive to their contributions.
- Share responsibility for accomplishing the goals and priorities of the grade/team/department, building, and school district.
- Be a reflective and continuous learner.
- Comply with School Committee policies, contractual agreements, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Work cooperatively with colleagues, administrators, and other school personnel.
- Salary per years of experience and education level pursuant to pay schedule within Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Certification valid for service as a teacher in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- SEI endorsement/ESL licensure preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience with appropriate age group.
