Paraprofessional Job Description
Responsibilities- Assist classroom teacher in providing developmentally appropriate activities for students, implementing concrete learning activities that meet the varied developmental needs of students with and without special needs, including ELL students.
- Assist classroom teacher in getting students into and out of the buildings and classrooms, including lifting and carrying of students.
- Assist teacher during activities such as field trips and emergency drills.
- Assist teacher with classroom routines such as snack time, washing dishes, clean‑up, bathroom visits, and other similar activities.
- Assist teacher in maintaining a healthy and safe environment for children and perform other tasks as assigned by the building principal.
- For health positions only: feed, change diapers, and assist with toileting children.
- Successfully passed the Paraprofessional test, OR 48 college credits or more, OR a Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
- Experience with the appropriate age group.
