Paraprofessional Job Description
Specific Duties- Assist classroom teacher in providing developmentally appropriate activities for students by implementing concrete learning activities that meet the varied developmental needs of students with and without special needs, and also work with ELL students.
- Assist classroom teacher in getting students into and out of the buildings and classrooms, which may include lifting and carrying of students.
- Assist teacher during activities such as field trips and emergency drills.
- Assist teacher with classroom routines such as snacks, washing dishes, clean‑up, bathroom, and other similar activities.
- Assist teacher in maintaining a healthy and safe environment for children and perform such other tasks as assigned by the building principal.
- For HEALTH positions only: position will include feeding, changing diapers, and toileting children.
- Successfully passed the Paraprofessional test, OR 48 college credits or more, OR a Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
