Parent Liaison (part time)
Lowell Public School District – Lowell High School (9‑12), Lowell, Massachusetts
Position:
Parent Liaison
Reports to:
Principal of Record
Effective Date of Employment: 2026‑2027 School Year
Terms of Employment: 15‑18 hours per week, 2026‑2027 School Year
Pay: $15 per hour
- Assist in the support and implementation of the District/School-based goals of parent involvement.
- Assist in planning and implementation of meaningful programs and activities for parents.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the school’s USIP parent involvement goals and objectives.
- Maintain records related to School/Family Compacts.
- Assist in development and dissemination of parent information to increase parent knowledge of programs and activities within the school and district.
- Attend monthly parent liaison training/meeting.
- Willing to work flexible hours and attend evening meetings.
- Coordinate and integrate parent involvement strategies with other city programs and agencies.
- Make parent contacts through letters, newsletters, phone conversations, and home visits when needed with social workers, nurses or teachers.
- Work with parent/teachers to plan programs that increase parental participation in school activities.
- Conduct needs/interest survey to identify subjects important to parents and their children to better plan workshops/activities.
- Provide parent training to help parents help their children at home to improve basic skills.
- Help plan and organize a program of parent volunteers for the classroom.
- Perform other tasks as may be required by the Title I Program.
- High School Diploma.
- Dissemination skills for printing newsletters and other publications.
- Good organizational skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and attend evening meetings.
- Good communication skills.
- Preference may be given to a parent of a child attending the school.
