Summary:
The Coordinator of Academic Success Programs leads a team of professional and peer staff delivering supplemental learning services across the college's academic support programs within the Student Affairs Division, helping a diverse student body achieve academic success. Reporting to the Director of Academic Support Programs, the Coordinator supervises staff providing peer tutoring, peer mentoring, Supplemental Instruction, Ramp-Up, and Co-Requisite programs.
The Coordinator works closely with the Mathematics Department to embed support within the Ramp-Up and Co-Requisite programs, and collaborates extensively with academic, professional, and administrative colleagues across the college and in professional associations, representing the college in a positive manner.
The Coordinator of Academic Success Programs coordinates, facilitates, and supports supplemental learning programs designed to help students attain academic success.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Planning & Development:- Contribute to the vision and direction of all academic support programs, including establishing, implementing, and evaluating long-term goals.
- Develop and support departmental and college-wide programs to promote student success.
- Support the achievement of MCC Student Learning Outcomes through multiple programs and outreach initiatives.
- Collaborate with academic departments and divisions to provide the academic support that best fits their needs.
- Research best practices for learning assistance, determine the best fit for MCC students, and adopt those best suited to the college's needs.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of academic support programs and initiate programmatic modifications as needed.
- Support the Director in assessing student success initiatives and program effectiveness through annual research, benchmarking, reports, and the program review process.
- Participate in the hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of ACE Student Leaders in accordance with College Reading Learning Association (CRLA) and International Center for Supplemental Instruction (ICSI) accreditation requirements.
- Provide ongoing support, mentoring, and coaching to student leaders to ensure their professional development.
