Description

The Department of Communication at Boston College invites applications for an Assistant Professor of the Practice of Communication. This is a non-tenure-track, full-time position to start in August 2027. A primarily teaching role, it has a 3-3 course load as well as undergraduate advising responsibilities.

The expected 9-month base salary range (paid over 12 months) is $95,000-$100,000, offer based on factors such as, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, scope of responsibilities, internal equity, and market considerations.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should have demonstrated experience as the professor of record for both "Public Speaking" and "Communication (Quantitative and Qualitative) Research Methods" (the latter as either a single course or two separate courses). The capacity to incorporate media lab components into teaching, as well as practical strategies for addressing AI use ethically and productively in the classroom, is welcome. The successful individual must have a Ph.D. in Communication and an established record of teaching excellence in both courses listed above.
