Position Description
Merrimack College is a selective, private college in a beautiful, residential setting—just minutes from Boston, Massachusetts. The Department of Mathematics and Physics invites applications for an adjunct faculty position to teach Concepts in Algebra, Basic Statistics, and Applied Statistics for Engineering during the Fall 2026 semester.
Course Schedule- Concepts in Algebra (MTH 1000):
Section D – Monday/Wednesday/Friday 9:45 AM–11:00 AM
Section E – Monday/Wednesday/Friday 1:15 PM–2:30 PM
Section F – Monday/Wednesday/Friday 11:30 AM–12:45 PM - Basic Statistics (MTH 1111):
Section A – Tuesday/Thursday 8:00 AM–9:50 AM
Section B – Tuesday/Thursday 10:20 AM–12:10 PM - Applied Statistics and Probability for Engineers (MTH 1505):
Tuesday/Thursday 8:00 AM–9:50 AM
Courses begin on August 31, 2026 and conclude on December 18, 2026. Duties include delivering lectures, administering exams, and grading student assignments.
Qualifications- Holds at least an MS in Mathematics or a related field.
- College‑level teaching experience and experience using learning‑management systems (e.g., Canvas) and classroom technology is highly desirable.

This position is subject to the successful completion of a criminal background check.
Compensation- Minimum $5,000 per 4‑credit course.
- Minimum $3,750 per lab section.
- Final pay will be determined based on candidate qualifications, prior experience, scope of responsibilities, internal equity, and market considerations.
