Epic Special Education Staffing seeks a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher to support K-12 students for the school year. In this mission-driven, student-centered role, you will provide specialized instruction using ASL and other communication modalities, develop and implement IEPs, and ensure access to curriculum in inclusive and specialized settings. Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instruction to deaf and hard of hearing students using ASL and/or total communication strategies.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs aligned with student goals and legal requirements.
  • Assess student needs, track progress, and adjust instruction based on data.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and school staff to support inclusion and access.
  • Train and consult with staff on accommodations, communication access, and hearing assistive technology.
  • Engage and communicate regularly with families and caregivers about student progress and strategies.
  • Support use and troubleshooting of hearing assistive devices in the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with IDEA and district policies.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports diverse learners.
  • Participate in professional development and stay current on best practices in deaf education.
