Position Summary
Achieve seeks a part‑time Graduate Services Coordinator to oversee support for Achieve graduates as they navigate high school, the college process, and their first year of college. Working closely with the Achieve administrative team, this person will develop and manage systems to ensure that each graduate receives responsive, individualized support based on their school, circumstances, and needs. The role combines program oversight, academic monitoring, and relationship building with students, families, schools, and community partners.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide individualized academic and college access support to Achieve graduates based on their school, circumstances, and needs
- Track students’ academic progress and coordinate timely interventions for those experiencing
academic or personal challenges. - Build and maintain strong relationships with graduates, families, and key staff at partner high
schools. - Maintain regular communication with graduates and conduct in‑person visits at their high schools.
- Plan and lead graduate programming, including Saturday workshops, college trips, and college
application events - Develop and maintain partnerships with college access organizations and other community
resources. - Manage the Achieve Graduate Fellowship, including participant selection, staff supervision,
program development, and stipend coordination. - Support graduates through the transition to college and throughout their first year of enrollment
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of relevant professional experience
- Experience advising young people and supporting students through the college process
- Knowledge of Boston‑area schools, college access resources, and financial aid processes
- Ability to build trusting relationships with students, families, schools, and community partners
- Cultural sensitivity and humility in working with students and families from diverse backgrounds
- Strong organizational, time‑management, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive information
discreetly - Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
- Experience working with students from historically underrepresented or low‑income communities
preferred - Familiarity with the Boston educational landscape and proficiency in Spanish, Haitian Creole,
Vietnamese, or Cape Verdean Creole preferred
This part‑time .4 FTE position runs during the academic year September
- May. The schedule will be established in collaboration with the Executive Director and will reflect the needs of students and programs. The role requires some evening and weekend availability, including designated Achieve Saturday Sessions, as well as local travel for school visits and program events. Summer responsibilities focus on supporting graduating seniors with college matriculation and preparing graduate programming for the coming academic year.
