Position Overview

Trio’s Supply Advisory team helps large global commercial and industrial clients make confident energy decisions in increasingly complex electricity and natural gas markets. This position is focused on US power markets and US-based advisory support. As a Senior Energy Supply Advisor, you will serve as a trusted advisor to sophisticated clients, bringing deep experience in power markets, retail energy sourcing, risk management, and interconnection strategy.

This role is responsible for developing overall client energy strategies that connect market fundamentals, procurement options, supplier engagement, utility requirements, infrastructure constraints, and long‑term business objectives. This is a high‑impact opportunity for someone who can translate complex market, commercial, and infrastructure considerations into clear recommendations that help clients manage cost, risk, reliability, and growth. The role is ideal for someone who understands physical power markets, enjoys building practical client strategies, and wants to help shape Trio’s expanding supply advisory capabilities in a rapidly evolving energy landscape.

Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as the lead advisor and primary point of contact for large, complex client accounts, delivering responsive, high‑quality advisory support.
  • Build trusted client relationships by understanding each client’s business objectives, risk tolerance, decision‑making process, and operational priorities.
  • Develop and execute tailored electricity procurement strategies, with a focus on physical power structures, wholesale and retail market dynamics, and client‑specific risk objectives.
  • Monitor power markets, transmission and capacity developments, regulatory activity, and supplier behavior to provide timely, actionable guidance.
  • Advise clients on large load interconnection strategy, utility engagement, infrastructure constraints, capacity availability, and implications for site selection or expansion planning.
  • Support clients in navigating special utility tariff structures and bespoke rate negotiations, including load profile development, economic evaluation, and commercial positioning.
  • Lead client‑facing market updates, strategy discussions, and decision support conversations, presenting complex information in a clear, credible, and client‑ready manner.
  • Lead competitive procurement events for individual and aggregated site portfolios, including bid strategy, supplier engagement, proposal evaluation, negotiation support, and transaction execution.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals, pricing structures, contract terms, and product offerings to deliver objective, well‑supported recommendations.
  • Negotiate and execute physical power supply agreements in accordance with client procurement policies, internal controls, and contractual requirements.
  • Analyze energy, pricing, load, and contract data to develop meaningful insights, strategic recommendations, and high‑value reporting.
  • Partner with internal delivery teams and subject‑matter experts to coordinate execution, maintain quality, and identify opportunities for broader client value.
  • Ensure client deliverables, recommendations, and transactions are accurate, timely, and aligned with Schedules of Work and client expectations.
  • Mentor junior team members by sharing market knowledge, strengthening analytical capabilities, and reinforcing strong client service standards.
Desired Background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in US electricity markets, physical power procurement, energy suppliers, utilities, energy consulting, or interconnection‑related advisory work.
