Process Engineer Dry EtchProcess Engineer responsible for development and sustaining of plasma etch technology at the MACOM wafer fab located in Lowell, MA.
Specific responsibilities include- Sustains the dry etch area (RIE/ICP/CAIBE) to meet all factory indicators; plans and conducts experiments to fully characterize the process throughout the development cycle, drives improvements on quality, reliability, cost, yield, process stability/capability, productivity and safety/ergonomic over variables such as material, method, equipment, environment and operating personnel.
- Successful candidate develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, statistical knowledge, and problem‑solving tools.
- BS or MS degree in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in semiconductor process engineering.
- Specific experience in plasma etch technology – RIE / ICP
- Specific semiconductor skills include solid understanding of data mining and statistics, SPC and DOE, Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and structured problem solving.
- Must have a proven track record of solving technical problems, project ownership, meeting deadlines, and multitasking.
- Must display strong sense of ownership, enthusiasm, optimism, drive, and dedication to the improvement of the process area.
- The ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to improve processes.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including technical writing for summarizing data and findings, writing process and equipment specifications and work instructions.
- Detail‑oriented and strong organizational skills.

The Salary Range for this position is $97,000 - $166,000. Actual salary offered to candidates will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates’ experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
