Position OverviewWe are seeking a versatile and driven engineer with a strong foundation in software development and systems engineering, coupled with mechanical aptitude and hands‑on competence. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex problems across disciplines — from developing software to building and testing physical systems for energy storage and conversion.
Essential Functions- Develop and maintain software tools and embedded systems that interface with energy devices.
- Design, implement, and develop system‑level functional tests.
- Apply systems engineering principles to optimize integration of mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems.
- Conduct diagnostics, build prototypes, and perform validation tests in lab and field settings.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support end‑to‑end product development cycles.
- Document processes, code and design decisions clearly and accurately.
- Stay up to date with industry trends in renewable energy, advanced technologies and mechanical systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, or related field).
- 3+ years of experience in software development (Python, C/C++, MATLAB, etc.).
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands‑on skills in prototyping, fabrication, or diagnostics.
- Knowledge of energy storage systems, including lithium‑ion batteries and related conversion technologies.
- Experience with system integration, control systems or product testing.
- Solid understanding of engineering documentation, schematics and CAD tools.
- Experience with recreational vehicle and marine applications.
- Familiarity with thermal and fluid systems.
- Knowledge of safety standards and standards in energy systems.
- Ability to communicate across technical and non‑technical teams within a cross‑divisional global company.
- Hybrid role with a three‑day a week onsite requirement.
- Travel required 5–10% of the time.
- Work in office environment along with a test lab.
Annual base pay range: $72,500–$115,300, with additional opportunities for a discretionary annual bonus and participation in a long‑term incentive program. Compensation decisions are dependent on qualifications and business context.
