Position: Controls Specialist Weekend Days

Responsibilities

  • Perform continuous improvement of plant processes and equipment, including design, PLC program changes, mechanical and electrical documentation.
  • Lead Six Sigma projects to reduce variation, improve uptime, and lower maintenance costs.
  • Apply problem‑solving techniques such as Pareto analysis, cause‑and‑effect analysis, multivariable analysis, FMEA, and DOE to develop solutions.
  • Initiate and lead plant teams for process improvement and coordinate with vendors, define SOWs, and manage contract deliverables.
  • Provide technical support for plant operations, maintenance, capital project implementation, and Six Sigma rollout.
  • Act as liaison between plant and Division Engineering personnel; communicate engineering needs, process changes, and project reporting.
  • Monitor processes, equipment, and tools to ensure performance to specifications.
  • Implement capital and non‑capital projects and work with quality and manufacturing to meet quality and engineering standards.
  • Review new and modified specifications and schedule their introduction into the manufacturing system.
  • Identify causes and develop strategies for eliminating recurring downtime.
  • Assist in assuring tools, equipment, and processes comply with OSHA and EPA standards.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing) or lower degree with 5‑10 years of work experience.
  • Understanding of Project/Program Management Methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills to work across multifunctional teams.
  • Working knowledge of PLC programming and ladder logic.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and related programs.

Preferred

  • Experience with robotics programming, troubleshooting, and diagnostics (Fanuc/Denso).
  • Experience with AutoCAD or Solid Works.
