Senior Engineering Group Leader - Process Engineering
Medical Diagnostics | Leadership + NPI + LabVIEW
X4 Life Sciences are partnering with a leading medical diagnostics company to hire a Senior Engineering Group Leader to drive the development and scale‑up of next‑generation diagnostic instrumentation.
This is a high‑impact leadership opportunity for someone who not only understands complex product development but can also build and scale manufacturing operations for successful instrument production. The role bridges the gap between R&D and operations, driving innovative instruments from development through to scalable, high‑volume manufacturing.
What You’ll Be Doing:- Lead multi‑program engineering and product development activities
- Set up and support an operational production line for instrument mass manufacturing
- Drive fixture development and manufacturing readiness initiatives
- Lead engineering teams across development, transfer, and operational activities
- Oversee New Product Introduction (NPI) and product transfer into manufacturing
- Ensure consistent technology integration and architecture standards across programmes
- Conduct design reviews focused on safety, reliability, manufacturability, and cos
- Coordinate cross‑functional engineering teams through all stages of development
- Support continuous improvement, serviceability, and scalability initiatives
Experience:
- Strong hands‑on LabVIEW experience (essential)
- Proven NPI experience and understanding of product transfer into operations/manufacturing
- Experience setting up operational/manufacturing lines for instrument production
- Strong understanding of fixture development and engineering operations
- Experience leading engineering teams in regulated environments
- Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years’ experience OR Master’s degree with 10+ years’ experience
- Familiarity with quality systems and regulations applicable to medical devices e.g FDA/ISO
