The Role
Permit Project Coordinator – Renewables (1‑year contract, W‑2). Responsible for managing and facilitating the permitting process for renewable energy facilities (solar, wind, battery storage, transmission, substation infrastructure), working directly with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to obtain all necessary permits.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage permit applications for renewable energy construction projects across multiple jurisdictions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local AHJs to facilitate the permitting process.
- Interpret and apply local building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental requirements.
- Prepare and review permit applications and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, construction, development, and project management teams.
- Track and report permit status and ensure timely submission of all required documentation.
- Coordinate permit activity timelines in alignment with the overall project schedule.
- Identify and assess permit risks, develop mitigation strategies, and report to the project team.
- Maintain accurate records of permit applications, approvals, and related communications.
- Attend pre‑application meetings with regulatory agencies when necessary.
- Keep project teams informed of permitting timelines and requirements.
- 5+ years of experience in permitting, regulatory compliance, or a related field in a corporate environment.
- Experience with construction projects related to renewable energy, electrical utility, or major infrastructure permitting.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Sound understanding of building codes and permitting processes.
Primary work in office environment with standard business hours (Monday through Friday). Occasional travel to project sites and regulatory offices may be required.
Salary range: $47.00‑$52.00 per hour (dependent on experience, qualifications, and skills).
