About the role
We're looking for an Interconnection Engineer on behalf of our client. This is a 1‑year contract assignment (W‑2). The role involves working with corporate office, engineering, construction and commissioning teams to coordinate submittals and interconnection deliverables with Transmission Owners (TOs), Operators (ISOs) and Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) Clients. Review Purchase Power Agreements (PPAs) and Interconnection Agreements (IAs) and provide critical engineering feedback during negotiation.
Key Responsibilities- Review all draft Purchase Power Agreements and Interconnection Agreements for their assigned region.
- Assess the impact of requirements on the project design and schedule and communicate to internal stakeholders.
- Interface with Transmission Owners and Operators (TOs) and Power Purchasing Agreement Clients to align all deliverables to physically connect, sync and achieve COD.
- Monitor changes in interconnection processes for their assigned ISO(s).
- Track deliverables and milestones for PPAs and IAs.
- Work with engineering parties to ensure technical items of PPA and IA are met in plant design.
- Knowledge of ISO tariffs and pro‑forma and non‑pro‑forma contracts.
- Familiarity with NERC and FERC technical standards related to transmission and generation interconnection.
- Familiarity with tariff and interconnection processes in CAISO and ERCOT.
- Contract interpretation and management of deliverables.
- Experience with technical review of contracts related to the electric power grid industry.
- Electrical Engineering preferred with an emphasis in Power Systems Engineering or professional experience with interconnection engineering.
- Base salary $40–$45 per hour (dependent on experience, qualifications and skills).
