Traffic Department Lead - New England (Build From The Ground Up)

Here's a rare one. A well established, multi-state Civil Engineering firm is looking for someone to come in and build their New England traffic department from scratch.

Right now, all New England traffic work is being run out of the New York office. That's about to change, and they need the right person to lead it.

This isn't a case of stepping into an existing setup. You'd be laying the foundations, building the team, and shaping how traffic engineering gets delivered across the region going forward. If you've ever wanted to build something rather than just manage it, this is that opportunity.

• Preparing Traffic Impact and Parking Studies, Intersection Capacity Analyses
• Designing Traffic Signal and Roadway Improvement Plans, Maintenance and Traffic Control drawings, Traffic Signal Timing Directives
• Developing comprehensive submissions and applications to jurisdictional bodies
• Project management, zoning and land development permitting, field inspection, project reports
• Teaching and training entry to mid level designers and analysts
• Ultimately standing up and leading a new New England traffic department
• Attending and presenting before technical and lay bodies at municipal, county and state level (training provided)

• 10+ years traffic engineering experience, PE required
• Someone who can genuinely lead, not just deliver
• Private entitlement/zoning and site plan permitting experience preferred but not essential
• Bonus if you have your own client relationships or a book of business you could bring with you
