Financial Advisor Associate (FAA) – TD Wealth

Works with TD Wealth prospects and clients to attract, retain, and serve clients by addressing their wealth management advisory needs.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze clients’ financial information (income, cash flow, assets, liabilities) and understand short‑ and long‑term goals.
  • Educate and advise prospects and clients on investment and insurance strategies and products.
  • Recommend personalized investment and insurance strategies to meet financial goals.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage all aspects of client relationships; provide ongoing consultation, planning, and day‑to‑day account servicing.
  • Acquire new clients and retain existing ones through relationship management, communication, and periodic reviews.
  • Use Sales Force, Money Guide Pro, and other authorized software to track client engagement and provide advice.
  • Ensure every new client receives a complete onboarding experience: discovery, financial needs analysis, documentation, and a first Annual Client Review.
  • Provide education, coaching, and referral training to Retail and Small Business staff; deliver ongoing feedback.
  • Implement processes for periodic outreach and Annual Client Review meetings focused on overall wealth and financial planning needs.
  • Deepen wallet share by anticipating client needs and suggesting appropriate wealth solutions.
  • Identify portfolio and network opportunities to refer business to Retail, Small Business/Commercial Partners.
  • Execute all activities in compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures (OCC, SEC, state insurance, NY DFS, etc.).
  • Meet all continuing education requirements and adhere to TD Bank & TD Wealth policies and procedures.
  • Implement the Customer Identification Program (CIP) and enhanced due diligence per AML procedures.
  • Transition higher‑threshold clients to appropriate HNW Wealth partners when required.
  • Mentor new FAAs and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Act as a professional representative of TD Wealth in public and community engagements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • 1+ year(s) of relevant work experience in the financial services industry, or completion of an FAA Trainee program.
  • SIE & Series7 required.
  • L&H and Series
    66 (or equivalent) required, or ability to obtain within the registration schedule.
  • Self‑directed with strong planning and time‑management skills; ability to set and achieve sales and referral goals.
  • Comprehensive understanding of wealth products and services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned market and commute within the territory.
  • Knowledge of wealth‑management business‑development techniques.
  • Experience interacting with retail and small‑business banking clients.
  • Consultative sales experience required.
  • Ability to establish cooperative relationships with other departments.
