As an MRI Technologist, you are responsible for patient safety and the performance of high‑quality MR studies, on site and/or remote. You ensure effective communication with the radiologist, team members, patients, and customers, particularly in a mobile environment. When required, you train, orient, and supervise new technologists, patient coordinators, and MR Technologist Assistants.
Responsibilities- Responsible for patient safety, including pre‑screening for contraindications and performing aseptic injection technique.
- Oversee remote MR Technologists Assistants as needed.
- Produce high‑quality diagnostic images and operate multiple MR systems.
- Use all channels of communication to address concerns, solve problems, and resolve conflict.
- Effectively communicate with customers and radiologists.
- Train and orient new technologists, patient coordinators, and MR Technologist Assistants, on site and/or remote.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- ARRT (R), ARRT (MR), or ARMRIT certification (or ARRT in lieu, as specified by contract).
- State license, if applicable.
- CPR certification.
- Valid state driver’s license, as applicable.
- 3 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience or enrollment in an accredited MRI training program for more than 6 months.
- No experience required for MR registered technologist RT(MR) or ARMRIT.
- Strong customer service, organizational, and multi‑tasking skills.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
- Ability to work at several locations.
- Preferred:
Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience. - Registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT.
- 1 year of Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience.
- COVID‑19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.
- Local travel may be required.
- May be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit.
- Will be exposed to a strong magnetic field.
- May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease, including communicable disease when interacting with patients.
- More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk; repetitive movements of hands, arms, and legs; see, speak, and hear to communicate with patients.
- Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel or crawl; climb and balance; carry and lift (ability to move non‑ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
