Seeking an enthusiastic individual that enjoys working with seniors is reliable, flexible and creative. High school diploma or GED and good communication skills required. Would prefer 1 year experience working with residents/patients in a long term care setting. Work with other activity staff in planning, organizing and executing a variety or therapeutic activities for residents with different stages of dementia. Must be a patient and kind person, able to work in a team with other staff.

Previous Dementia care experience/Dementia care certified preferred not required.

Job Type: Part-time, Pay: $16.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Assist with record keeping of progress and activity attendance.
• Assist with mail delivery, transporting residents to and from activity programs, preparation of monthly activity calendar, and contributes to monthly newsletter and fund-raising efforts.
• Directs or carries out a program of activities which will provide entertainment, inter-communication, exercise, relaxation, and opportunities to express creative talents and fulfill basic psychological, social, and spiritual needs.

Experience:

Preferred but not required

• Activities Assistant (1 year preferred)
• Dementia Care Experience (preferred)
• Long Term Care Experience (preferred)
• English (preferred)
