Medical Technologist & Lab Technician, Clinical Research

We are looking for an experienced Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA. This role will work in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment and support our mission of “Improving Health, Improving Lives.”
Pay & Hours- Pay Range: $29.00 - $40.41 per hour (based on skills, experience, and qualifications)
- Work Schedule: 5×8 shifts, weekdays 11pm–7am and every other weekend rotation

- Determine acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions per standard operating procedures
- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
- Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
- Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls
- Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care
- Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
- Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as needed
- Assist with processing of specimens when required
- Maintain a safe work environment by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a non‑traditional degree meeting CLIA & State regulatory requirements
- Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience required, or an MLS degree with ASCP or AMT certification preferred
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
- High level of attention to detail with strong communication and organizational skills
- Must pass a standardized color vision screening test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts as business needs dictate
