IT Cloud Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic IT Cloud Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our cloud strategy. This role will drive multi-cloud adoption, hybrid architecture development, and enterprise workload migration initiatives while ensuring alignment with business objectives, cost efficiency, and security requirements.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise across cloud platforms, strong financial acumen, and a proven ability to influence executive stakeholders to successfully adopt cloud-first strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and govern scalable, secure, and resilient architectures across AWS and Azure clouds with a forward‑looking roadmap aligned to business, security, and operational objectives.
  • Architect compliant environments (e.g., Azure GCC High) supporting CMMC, NIST 800‑171, and ITAR, with strong controls for Zero Trust, segmentation, encryption, identity, and audit readiness.
  • Lead end‑to‑end migrations and modernization initiatives, including assessment, design, execution, and optimization, with a focus on minimizing risk and enabling cloud‑native capabilities.
  • Design and operate hybrid environments integrating on‑premises and cloud platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise networking, identity, and systems architecture.
  • Enable automated, secure delivery through CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, etc.), embedding security into development workflows for consistency and speed.
  • Design and support cloud architectures for AI/ML workloads, including model training, inference, and high‑performance compute (e.g., GPU/EDA burst capacity). Enable secure data pipelines, scalable compute environments, and integration of AI services while ensuring alignment with compliance, data governance, and cost optimization requirements.
  • Collaborate with application teams to modernize workloads using cloud‑native and microservices architectures.
  • Present architectural strategies and business cases to technical teams, leadership, and executive stakeholders.
  • Drive organizational adoption of cloud solutions, securing buy‑in from senior leadership.
  • Evaluate and leverage emerging technologies, including AI/ML platforms (e.g., Claude, OpenAI, or similar models).
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with strong focus on cloud architecture.
  • Proven success in migrating enterprise workloads to cloud environments.
  • Hands‑on experience designing hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Strong foundation in networking (VPCs, routing, firewalls, load balancing), systems (Windows/Linux administration), storage (SAN/NAS, object storage, backup/recovery), and multi‑cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, ARM, Cloud Formation, etc.).
  • Strong development knowledge, including Python or similar scripting languages and CI/CD tools (Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical topics to non‑technical audiences.
  • Proven track record of influencing and obtaining executive‑level buy‑in.
Preferred Certifications
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional or Associate)
  • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience with AI/ML integration in cloud environments, including use of models such as Claude or similar.
  • Experience in EDA environments with cloud bursting.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (NIST, CMMC, ISO, etc.).
  • Experience supporting regulated or security‑sensitive environments.
