POSITION SUMMARY:- The Corporate Director of Category Management reports to the Vice President, Category Management

Tri Mark USA is seeking a Director, Private Label Category Management to lead the strategic development, growth, and profitability of the company's private label portfolio across key product categories. This role is responsible for developing category strategies, identifying product opportunities, managing supplier partnerships, and collaborating cross-functionally to expand Tri Mark's exclusive brand offerings.
The Director will drive the full product lifecycle—from market analysis and product ideation through sourcing, pricing, launch, and lifecycle management—while ensuring alignment with customer needs, company financial objectives, and Tri Mark's long-term merchandising strategy.
Reporting to the Vice President of Category Management, this leader will partner closely with Sourcing, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain and Operations to build a differentiated private label assortment that enhances customer value and improves company margins.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute comprehensive private label category strategies aligned with Tri Mark's merchandising and growth objectives.
- Identify market opportunities through competitive analysis, customer insights, and industry trends.
- Build and manage a multi-year product roadmap for assigned categories.
- Evaluate product assortment, identify assortment gaps, and optimize SKU rationalization.
- Drive category performance through sales growth, gross margin expansion, and market share gains.
- Lead new private label product development initiatives from concept through commercialization.
- Partner with suppliers to ensure products meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Develop product specifications, feature requirements, packaging, and branding.
- Manage stage-gate processes for new product introductions.
- Oversee product lifecycle management including refreshes, discontinuations, and line extensions.
- Participate in supplier negotiations involving cost, quality, lead times, payment terms, and capacity.
- Develop long-term supplier relationships focused on innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Evaluate supplier performance using KPIs related to quality, service, cost, and delivery.
- Own category P&L performance for assigned private label categories.
- Develop annual sales, margin, and inventory forecasts.
- Monitor product profitability and implement pricing strategies that maximize gross margin.
- Identify cost savings opportunities through sourcing initiatives and product redesign.
- Support annual budgeting and strategic planning processes.
- Collaborate with Sales leadership to identify customer opportunities and support major account initiatives.
