Lowell has openings for two machinists to set up and operate sophisticated new Nakamura Mill Turn and/or Lathe CNC Equipment . Machinist Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC Nakamura Mill Turn and/or Lathe Machines.
  • Manufacture conforming product through the use and interpretation of part drawings, operation instructions, manufacturing specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Perform in-process inspection using inspection equipment and tools to verify dimensional and surface conformity. Uses data to adjust and maintain manufacturing process as needed.
  • Maintain tooling, equipment, and work area to ensure an organized, safe, and clean environment.
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance of the machines.
  • Performs part finishing operations using a variety of abrasives, deburring tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members, quality, and engineering departments.
  • Other duties as needed and assigned.
Mill Turn/Lathe Experience
  • Minimum 2 years CNC Machinist experience, Nakamura experience preferred.
  • Possesses advanced mechanical drawing reading skills and knowledge of GD&T.
  • Understands metrology principles and how to perform inspection on complex parts.
  • Strong computer skills in order to access, store, create, and log data.
  • Light programming skills and ability to read and write macros preferred.
