HOW THIS ROLE SUPPORTS OUR MISSION

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations during their responsible shift at the food manufacturing facility. This role ensures production efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met while maintaining a smooth workflow. The Production Supervisor leads and motivates the shift’s team, monitors performance, and implements continuous improvement initiatives to support operational goals.

WHAT YOU’LL DO -

  • Supervise and coordinate shift operations to meet production schedules and customer demands.
  • Provide direction, training, and support to production staff to ensure productivity, safety, and quality standards are maintained.
  • Ensure all products meet company and regulatory quality and food safety standards. Collaborate with Quality Assurance to address issues promptly.
  • Monitor the shift environment for safety hazards and enforce compliance with OSHA, HACCP, GMPs, and other food safety protocols.
  • Track production metrics, analyze performance data, and identify areas for improvement. Provide feedback to team members and elevate issues to the Production Manager when needed.
  • Ensure proper functioning of equipment and coordinate with maintenance staff for repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records of shift activities, production output, and incident reports. Provide detailed reports to the Production Manager.
  • Work closely with the other shift team to ensure seamless transitions and continuity of operations.
  • Address and resolve any operational challenges, including staffing issues, production delays, or quality concerns.
  • Must meet the eligibility requirements to apply for a special license to operate the facility's boilers.

have the following qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • Proficient in conflict resolution and fostering team building.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.
  • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires bending, squatting, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 30 pounds.
  • Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, food allergens and gas.
  • Must be able to work in the heat/steam and cold environment when required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bilingual English and Spanish
  • HACCP, GMP, and OSHA training
  • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
