Position Summary
The Processing Technician is responsible for supporting the day-to-day post-harvest processing of cannabis plants in a safe, efficient, clean, and compliant manner. This position works as part of the cultivation and processing team to prepare harvested cannabis for curing, storage, packaging, and/or further production.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, comfortable performing repetitive hands-on work, and committed to maintaining high standards for product quality, sanitation, workplace safety, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with harvesting and post-harvest processing activities, including trimming, bucking, sorting, weighing, and preparing cannabis flower for the next stage of production.
Operate and maintain processing equipment according to established procedures.
Inspect cannabis for quality, appearance, moisture, and overall condition.
Accurately weigh, label, identify, and document cannabis and plant material throughout the processing workflow.
Maintain accurate production and inventory records using required tracking systems and facility documentation.
Follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality-control procedures.
Maintain clean and sanitary work areas, equipment, tools, and processing rooms.
Follow all applicable facility policies regarding cannabis handling, security, sanitation, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Assist with cannabis waste handling and disposal procedures in accordance with facility requirements.
Identify and report product-quality issues, equipment problems, safety concerns, or process deviations to management.
Work efficiently to meet daily production goals while maintaining product quality and accuracy.
Assist with room setup, breakdown, cleaning, and general facility organization.
Communicate effectively with cultivation, processing, inventory, packaging, and management teams.
Perform other cultivation and processing duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in cannabis cultivation, processing, agriculture, manufacturing, food production, warehouse operations, or a similar environment is preferred.
Cannabis industry experience is a plus but not required.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and quality.
Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Basic math and recordkeeping skills.
Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
Must be willing to comply with all applicable cannabis licensing, employment, background-check, and facility-access requirements.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
Ability to frequently bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to approximately 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to work in varying temperatures and production environments.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
This position operates in a commercial cannabis cultivation and processing facility. Employees may work around strong cannabis odors, plant material, processing equipment, cleaning agents, dust, and varying temperature and humidity conditions.
Employees are expected to follow all workplace safety procedures and use required PPE at all times.
