Position OverviewPerform critical post-plating and post-anodizing finishing and packaging activities required for parts to fully comply with customer specifications, engineering requirements, and quality standards prior to final inspection and shipment. The primary responsibilities of this role are detailed finishing work and accurate packaging of completed parts. This is a position that also provides operational support across the shop as needed, including masking removal, blasting, and movement of orders to maintain workflow continuity and on-time delivery.
This role supports overall workflow efficiency and ensures finished parts are shipment-ready.

- Perform detailed post-plating and post-anodizing finishing work to ensure parts fully comply with Job Card, print, and customer specifications.
- Conduct thorough cleaning, cosmetic detailing, and touch-up of completed parts to remove residue, staining, smut, or minor surface imperfections.
- Prepare finished parts for final inspection by verifying cosmetic quality, surface condition, and order accuracy.
- Coordinate with QC to ensure finished parts are ready for and capable of passing final inspection.
- Package completed orders accurately and carefully in accordance with Job Card instructions and customer-specific packaging requirements.
- Verify part quantities, identification, and documentation prior to packaging and shipment.
- Remove masking materials post-processing without damaging coatings, threads, or critical surfaces.
- Perform blasting operations as required to meet finish, cosmetic, or customer requirements.
- Move parts and orders safely throughout the shop to support production flow and on-time delivery.
- Provide operational support to other departments as needed based on workload and priorities.
- Maintain accurate Job Card documentation and final processing records.
- Follow all safety, quality, and handling procedures at all times.
- Assist with general shop organization and housekeeping as required.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should meet the following minimum requirements and qualifications:
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, particularly when coordinating with QC, Packaging, and Production.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify cosmetic and surface-related defects.
- Strong understanding of customer specifications, workmanship standards, and acceptance criteria.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Flexibility and willingness to shift tasks based on operational needs.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and safely handle parts and materials.
- Safety training and ability to work in a high-reliability manufacturing environment; knowledge of Nadcap requirements preferred.
- 20/20 vision or correctable to 20/20.
- Quality and consistency of finishing and packaging work.
- First-pass final inspection acceptance rates.
- Defect, damage, and rework rates attributable to final processing.
- Accuracy and completeness of packaging and documentation.
- Responsiveness and effectiveness when supporting other shop functions.
- Adherence to safety, quality, and procedural requirements.
