Job Profile Summary

This role focuses on providing professional and nonprofessional nursing care services in accordance with physician orders. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Nursing Leadership duties:
Controls, directs, and participates in the activities of the organization through a hierarchy of managers and supervisors. Responsibilities also include long‑term strategic planning, determining the policies of the organization, and allocating its resources and making decisions regarding organization growth and diversification to accomplish entity's vision. A management role that supervises employees focusing on tactical, operational activities within a specified area, with the majority of time spent overseeing area of responsibility, planning, prioritizing and/or directing the responsibilities of employees.

Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of direct and/or indirect reports. A role that supervises all levels of employees. Responsibilities that typically include:
Setting goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results, problems faced may be difficult but typically are not complex, and ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders.

The Clinical Manager oversees the daily clinical and administrative operations of designated unit(s). The Clinical Manager prepares staff schedules, requests, and allocates resources and ensures that patient care is aligned with the goals, mission, and vision of Tufts Medicine.

D3 is a 30‑bed surgical unit caring for both medical‑surgical and intermediate level of care patients. We care for adult, acute care patients, with a wide variety of diagnosis and co‑morbidities, providing comprehensive care according to the scope of care defined by the organization and Massachusetts state regulations. D3 is also the primary surgical floor, except for orthopedics. Our surgical patients include:
Bariatrics, General, Gyn, Urology, Plastics, Vascular, etc. Our medical patients include: stroke, renal, pneumonia, alcohol withdrawal, drug withdrawal, cellulitis, etc.
