The RN independently provides direct nursing care to patients and their families in accordance with established policies, procedures, and practices.
Location:
Riley 3 (R3) Unit – Saints Campus
Hours:
36 hours per week, Full‑time. Weekend and holiday commitment required.
Shift: Evenings/Nights 7:00PM – 7:00AM
Career Pathway Levels- Level I – 0 – Less than 12 months of RN experience.
- Level II – 12 months – Less than 3 years of RN experience.
- Level III – 3 years – Less than 8 years of RN experience.
- Level IV – 8 years – Experience.
- Participate in and maintain awareness of performance improvement initiatives.
- Conscientiously evaluate and integrate evidence-based practice and research into clinical practice.
- Conduct and document accurate clinical assessments.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate the patient’s individualized plan of care.
- Use professional nursing judgment to individualize the plan of care based on assessment of the patient's needs.
- Manage own patient assignment by delegating effectively based on patient needs and skills of team members.
- Develop a comprehensive educational plan for the patient and family, utilizing appropriate resources, and document according to department standards.
- Recognize patient/family rights through support of their informed decisions and advanced directives.
- Continuously evaluate and revise the care plan according to changes in the patient’s health status.
- Develop a comprehensive discharge plan utilizing appropriate resources and referrals, including community resources.
- Support the development of new staff members and help facilitate their transition into the unit.
- Guide the professional growth of department staff through precepting.
- Participate in professional development by identifying learning needs and seeking appropriate education.
- Participate in departmental committees as needed.
- Massachusetts RN Licensure.
- 12 months – Less than 3 years of RN experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Department‑specific certifications relevant to the department and the type of patient care being provided may be required.
