Job Purpose and Summary
The Asset Protection Coordinator (APC) is responsible for improving the retail customer experience and mitigating company losses due to external theft in their assigned store. The APC provides attentive customer service while monitoring store activity, reporting theft incidents, and collaborating with store leadership and the Asset Protection Department. This position is not a covert apprehension role; it emphasizes customer service and theft deterrence.
PrimaryJob Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides friendly customer service: greets customers, answers questions, assists with unlocking and securing showcases.
- Monitors assigned store(s) for activities that could result in loss of CVS Pharmacy assets/products.
- Communicates with store management about observations and seeks guidance when theft is suspected.
- Inspects high‑risk product categories regularly to detect and deter theft activity.
- Ensures use of approved asset/product protection equipment and the security labeling program.
- Prepares external theft reports in the Auror system and monitors feeds to share intelligence on repeat offenders with key stakeholders.
- Provides customer service to prevent theft and reduce friction caused by product protection (60% of time).
- External theft reporting and review of habitual offenders in Auror (30% of time).
- Monitors store compliance with asset protection programs and takes corrective action (10% of time).
- Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the store for most of the shift.
- Manual dexterity to apply security tags, use keys, and open/close locks.
- Excellent observational skills and the ability to recall detailed facts.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with customers, store leadership, and the Asset Protection team.
- Ability to prepare and submit external theft reports as needed.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in retail loss prevention or a related field.
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
Full‑time; 40 hours per week.
Pay Range$19.00 – $28.00 per hour (base rate).
