Business Development & Sales Specialist – Life Sciences
Employment Type: Full-Time
IMPORTANT: Must have at least 1-2 years of business development experience in the life sciences.
A growing and well-established preclinical research organization is seeking a Business Development & Sales Specialist to help expand its presence within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and research communities.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales professional with experience in life sciences, drug development, or contract research services who enjoys building relationships, identifying new opportunities, and contributing directly to company growth.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and develop new business opportunities within pharmaceutical, biotech, and academic research organizations.
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and scientific stakeholders.
- Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve revenue goals.
- Prepare proposals, presentations, and client-facing materials.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
- Manage sales activities, pipelines, and customer interactions through CRM systems.
- Collaborate with scientific and operational teams to align client needs with research capabilities.
- Support marketing initiatives, lead generation campaigns, and brand awareness efforts.
- Monitor industry trends, market activity, and competitive developments.
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in business development, sales, account management, or marketing within:
- Contract Research Organizations (CROs)
- Biotechnology companies
- Pharmaceutical organizations
- Life sciences service providers
- Understanding of preclinical drug development, research services, or laboratory-based solutions.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working with CRM platforms and managing sales pipelines.
- Ability to travel for conferences, client meetings, and industry events.
- Existing network within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or academic research communities.
- Experience selling preclinical, laboratory, or research services.
- Knowledge of in vivo and/or in vitro research environments.
- Digital marketing or scientific marketing experience.
