  • Support person-centered planning and interventions in individuals’ Restoration Center Support Plans
  • Foster a welcoming, supportive, and accessible Restoration Center environment
  • Provide one-on-one and group peer support, education, advocacy, and recovery resources
  • Staff the Living Room, including supporting access to showers, laundry, computer lab, decompression space, and staff
  • Provide peer support in RC Triage and Respite programs as needed
  • Support individuals during service and life transitions, including hospital, detoxification, respite discharge, and moving to community housing
  • Share personal recovery experiences and build empowering, supportive relationships
  • Connect individuals with community services, recovery networks, social supports, and resources
  • Facilitate peer support and Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) groups
  • Provide training on recovery, self-management plans, coping techniques, and self-help strategies
  • Promote engagement with Restoration Center services, healthcare, and employment services
  • Support self-determination, decision‑making, advocacy skills, and development of support networks
  • Provide problem‑solving, skill training, side‑by‑side support, and assistance with daily living skills
  • Teach and consult with Restoration Center staff about recovery‑oriented practices and lived experience
  • Provide temporary transportation to essential medical and behavioral health appointments while connecting individuals to community transportation resources
  • Complete required documentation according to Certified Peer Specialist training standards
  • Receive supervision from the Manager of Peer Services and perform other assigned duties
Requirements
  • Personal, first‑hand experience being a recipient of the mental health system, including experiences such as psychiatric inpatient hospitalization, outpatient services/therapy, psychiatric medications, and/or community mental health groups
  • Certified Peer Specialist credential strongly preferred; must become a Certified Peer Specialist within one year of hire
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • In some cases, experience may be substituted for academic training
  • Valid driver’s license required at employment
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Valid US driver’s license maintained for at least six months
  • Adequate insurance and a safe driving record if using a personal vehicle
  • Must pass a driver’s screening background check
  • CPR within 2 weeks of hire
  • First Aid within 2 weeks of hire
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, lift at least 25 pounds, operate computers and office equipment, assist clients with daily living tasks, and communicate effectively
  • Knowledge of peer support Codes of Ethics, person‑centered and recovery‑oriented practices, engagement techniques, advocacy, community resources, psychiatric advance directives, relapse prevention, and personal computer applications
  • Ability to create supportive relationships, maintain confidentiality, work independently and as part of a team, balance priorities, and make independent decisions
