Lead Cloud Platform Engineer - Microservices & Go

About the Role

Magna New Mobility is a startup inside Magna International, a mobility technology company and one of the largest automotive suppliers in the world. The New Mobility team is building a suite of products and services all about moving things and people at scale, closely integrated with software to achieve our unique and ambitious hardware visions. So far we have developed and partnered on products in the micromobility market (Yulu, Yuma, Cartken, among others) and have other projects and target markets that are still in stealth mode.

We are currently seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our Software Platform team. #LI-hybrid

Your Responsibilities

• Identify and define technical requirements for cloud-based applications and systems.
• Identify cloud services that meet specific technical requirements.
• Develop containerized solutions (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Create, manage, and maintain APIs for microservices communication and interaction.
• Implement and manage databases specific to microservices, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
• Handle deployment and management of microservices across different environments and cloud platforms.
• Conduct testing, debugging, and optimization of microservices for stability and efficiency.

Who we are looking for

• Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent Experience in computer science, data science, or a related field
• 10+ years’ experience in deploying and managing systems and applications in cloud service providers (AWS primarily)
• 10+ years’ experience with architecting solutions in the cloud including compute, storage, databases, and networking.
• Demonstrated experience in a Lead or Management role
• Strong knowledge of the different service models offered in the cloud (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS, and Faas).
• Experience with programming languages such as Java, C, C++, Python or Go with preference given to Go
