This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to develop both software and hands-on lab experience while working alongside a highly collaborative and supportive engineering team.

What You'll Work On:

  • You will contribute to the ongoing development and expansion of a sophisticated, Python-based test and measurement platform that:
  • Automates RF and microwave test systems across global lab environments
  • Supports both discrete test setups and integrated analyzer platforms (e.g., Keysight PNA-X, Rohde & Schwarz ZNA)
  • Executes advanced measurement routines using built-in analyzer capabilities
  • Leverages a database-driven architecture for data storage, security, and asset tracking
  • Enables automated wafer probing, temperature cycling, and complex test sequencing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance software features within a Python-based test automation framework
  • Design and implement new methods for data processing, organization, and visualization
  • Build tools for real-time test status monitoring and equipment availability tracking
  • Support lab activities, including system validation and troubleshooting of automated measurements
  • Work directly with engineers locally and globally to configure and deploy complex test setups
  • Create custom automation solutions for new programs and applications
  • Develop data analysis and plotting routines for engineering insights and reporting
  • Contribute ideas to improve system performance, efficiency, and usability

Technologies & Equipment:
You will gain exposure to a wide range of RF test equipment and systems, including:

  • Vector Network Analyzers (Keysight PNA-X, Rohde & Schwarz ZNA)
  • Signal Generators, Power Meters, Noise Figure Meters
  • Digital Multimeters and Oscilloscopes
  • Automated wafer probing systems and thermal test platforms
  • (Prior experience is a plus but not required—training will be provided.)

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in one of:
Electrical Engineering, ECE, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering
  • Strong programming skills in Python (required)
  • Java script and/or Typescript skills
  • Linux skills
  • Interest in software development, test systems, or automation
  • A strong interest in RF and microwave engineering is highly desirable; prior exposure or experience is a plus but not required
  • Exposure to data analysis, automation, or lab-based projects is beneficial
  • Can-do attitude
  • Eager self-starter

What Makes a Strong Candidate:

  • Relentlessly curious and eager to learn
  • Strong interest in RF and microwave systems
  • Interested in test equipment automation and engineering workflows
  • Passion for organizing, processing, and extracting insights from complex datasets
  • Motivated to build clear, structured, and actionable reports
  • Comfortable working in both software and hands-on lab environments
  • Eager to grow within a dynamic, collaborative team
  • Demonstrated project work related to automation, data analysis, or lab systems (academic or personal)

Why Join Us?

  • Work on cutting-edge RF and microwave test technologies
  • Gain hands-on experience with advanced lab equipment and automation systems
  • Be part of a motivated, supportive, and highly collaborative engineering team
  • Contribute to impactful, globally used systems
  • Build a strong foundation in both test engineering and software development

Career Growth:
This role offers a strong pathway for growth within engineering, with opportunities to expand into advanced test development, software architecture, and RF systems expertise. MACOM provides a well-defined engineering career ladder to support long-term development.
