Position Summary

Test Engineer within the CST Enabling Technologies, Platforms and Solutions Research and Development organization. The role focuses on delivering cutting‑edge intra‑operative imaging, navigation and robotic‑assisted surgery technology to improve patient outcomes and surgical efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate requirements for quality and completeness to ensure they meet user needs.
  • Develop test methods for verification and lead the overall automated test strategy and implementation.
  • Reduce overall test burden through structured automation of existing and new testing.
  • Plan and implement automation using Lab View, Test Complete, and similar utilities.
  • Design standalone automation applications for specialized functionality.
  • Leverage AI tools for developing testing, automation, and documentation.
  • Test advanced image reconstruction and processing algorithms.
  • Participate in all phases of product development, including reviewing requirements, design, usability, risk assessment, and defects.
  • Identify and catalog software defects in assigned functional areas and assist in triage, investigation, and resolution.
  • Implement test process improvements to continually enhance the Test Engineering team’s performance.
  • Generate test protocols based on product requirements and project needs.
  • Set up and use physical imaging phantoms.
  • Document and report test results and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with team members and maintain excellent working relationships across functions.
  • Perform all activities in compliance with the Quality System, environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Accomplish all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • BS degree in a related engineering discipline (software, biomedical, etc.).
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects.
  • Experience with Agile and iterative development practices.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment with knowledge of federal and international medical device regulations such as FDA QSR, ISO 14971, ISO 62304, ISO 13485, and EU MDR.
  • Proficiency with Lab View or Test Complete.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, time‑management and organizational abilities.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside the United States, a degree satisfying 8C.F.R. §214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
