Title: Shuttle Driver
Department: Transportation Services
Reports to: Director of Safety & Campus Operations
Position Type: Part-time
Location: Lowell and Bedford campuses
Schedule: Up to 18.5 hours per week, scheduled Monday‑Friday, 6:30am‑6:30pm during Fall and Spring semesters. Expected start date:
January 2026.
Salary: $18.25 per hour (College’s Part‑Time Wage Schedule)
Responsibilities- Operate college vehicles safely and efficiently to transport students, faculty, staff, and members of the College Community between the Bedford and Lowell campuses, and occasionally to off‑site locations.
- Answer questions regarding transportation services, schedules, parking, and building information.
- Enforce basic passenger safety standards.
- Under the direction of the Van Coordinator, check tire pressure, oil, battery, gasoline, and water levels; report any issues.
- Report mileage, number of stops, destinations, gas level, accidents, and unusual activity to the Van Coordinator.
- Report the need for repair and/or maintenance to the Van Coordinator.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicles.
- Maintain an excellent driving record in all weather conditions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Massachusetts driver’s license with a clean record; recent major violations or accidents not allowed. Driving record check will be conducted.
- At least five years of driving experience.
- Understands and follows safety procedures.
- Ability to handle interactions with passengers respectfully, tactfully, and patiently.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain discretion with confidential information.
- Effective oral communication skills.
- Bilingual skills.
- Current Middlesex Community College students are strongly encouraged to apply.
