Full time employment plus potential overtime. Employees are paid at an hourly rate plus time and one-half for overtime hours worked.

Work weeks can vary from 5-8 hour days to 4-10 hour days for the employee’s regular schedule.

Residential Thrower

Shank Waste Service, Inc. is seeking qualified throwers to work as a team with a driver to collect refuse from households daily.

Essential Responsibilities

Collect refuse from each stop pursuant to the specific contracts or levels of service within the serviced area.
Safely manually manipulate garbage cans or garbage containers.
Safely haul, lift, and load items and materials into the truck.
Assist the driver in backing situations to help guide and ensure safety while backing.
Maintain a courteous and cordial manner with all customers encountered on the route.

Minimum Qualifications

Must pass a physical exam and drug screen.
Employees must provide their own safety‑approved work boots.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend/twist, lift/carry required.
The ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. is required.
This job is performed in and out of the truck. Employees are subject to weather elements daily; i.e. heat, sun, rain, snow, wind, etc.

Schedule is Monday – Friday. Start time 4am. Weekend availability:
Thrower, Loader, Collect, Refuse.
