Senior Statutory Accountant About the Role

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our finance team and support regulatory financial reporting within the insurance industry. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys improving financial processes, working with complex data, and partnering across departments to deliver accurate and compliant financial information.

The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining regulatory reporting standards, enhancing reporting efficiencies, and supporting key financial reporting activities throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review statutory financial reports and supporting documentation in accordance with applicable insurance regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze financial results, investigate significant variances, and provide meaningful reporting insights.
  • Perform account reconciliations and validate the completeness and accuracy of financial information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting workflows through automation and process enhancements.
  • Contribute to quarterly and year-end financial close activities and regulatory statement preparation.
  • Participate in special projects focused on process improvement, reporting optimization, and financial system enhancements.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • At least five years of accounting or financial reporting experience within the insurance sector.
  • Strong understanding of insurance accounting principles and regulatory reporting practices.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze and manage large datasets.
  • Experience improving accounting processes and implementing more efficient reporting solutions.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
