Accounting Manager, Accounts Receivable/ Collections, Financial Reporting
Location: Greater Philadelphia Area (Onsite)
A century old engineering firm is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations for its corporate office. This hands-on leadership role offers broad responsibility across the full accounting cycle, including billing, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash management. The position provides direct exposure to executive leadership and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a collaborative and stable organization.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys owning the accounting function in a project-based business environment.
Responsibilities- Oversee the full accounting cycle
- Manage client billing processes, including project-based and fixed-fee invoicing
- Partner with operational leadership to ensure accurate revenue recognition and billing schedules
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Manage accounts payable, vendor relationships, and expense reporting
- Oversee accounts receivable, collections, and aging while maintaining strong client relationships
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Maintain the general ledger, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, and supporting schedules
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including coordination with external auditors
- Monitor cash flow and assist with financial planning activities
- Associate's degree in Accounting required;
Bachelor's degree preferred - 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience managing payroll, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions
- Experience with in a professional services or project-based environment preferred
- Familiarity with project accounting or time-and-billing systems is a plus
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and accounting software proficiency
The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, location and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
