The Department of Human Services (DHS) at the South Mountain Restoration Center is looking for a motivated Fiscal Assistant ready to bring energy and focus to our financial operations. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy detail oriented tasks and want to support a facility committed to high quality care. You will help ensure that financial transactions are completed correctly and on time, supporting the success of the entire center.

This position provides essential clerical accounting support to the Financial Office, helping ensure that purchasing, payment, and recordkeeping processes run efficiently. The work supports accurate bookkeeping and smooth financial operations across the South Mountain Restoration Center. As a Fiscal Assistant, you will perform the following duties:

  • Accounts Payable Support: Assist with bookkeeping tasks related to accounts payable, ensuring expenditures are recorded accurately
  • Invoice Processing: Prepare payments, compare supporting documents, resolve discrepancies with vendors, and enter invoices into SAP accounting system
  • Purchasing Card Management: Reconcile daily and monthly purchasing card transactions, verify documentation, and follow discrepancies through to resolution
  • Purchase Order Review: Research and resolve differences between invoices and receipts, coordinate with departments, and monitor SAP workflow items
  • Recordkeeping Tasks: Open mail, date stamp documents, and file invoices and purchase orders by vendor and order number
Work Schedule and Additional Information
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work;
    or
  • An associate degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits in accounting;
    or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
