The Clerical Assistant 2 role at the Adams County Assistance Office offers the opportunity to help people every day. You will join a team that works hard to support community members who need important services. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys staying organized and helping others stay on track.
Duties- Data Entry Support: Enter client information into computer systems and update records accurately.
- Client Assistance: Greet visitors, answer phones, and guide individuals to the correct staff member.
- Office Operations: Operate office equipment and help maintain supplies and work areas.
- Record Management: File documents, organize records, and prepare materials for shredding when needed.
- Mail Processing: Open, sort, and distribute mail to the proper staff members.
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours:
8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 1‑hour lunch. - Telework: This position may be eligible for part‑time telework. Telework details will be discussed during the interview and a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and approved location in Pennsylvania are required.
- Salary: Starting salary of $36,831 (before taxes) for new to employment within Pennsylvania.
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (or equivalent federal job title).
- Graduation from high school.
- Or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Must meet the Pennsylvania residency requirement.
- Preference given to candidates residing within Adams County; otherwise candidates from other counties may be considered.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Veteran preference:
Pennsylvania law provides employment preference for qualified veterans.
- A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.
- Pass a background investigation.
