Classical Music School Part Time Administrative Assistant
Part Time (20 Hours/week)
Minimum Salary/Hourly Rate: $17/hour
Maximum Salary/Hourly Rate: $19/hour
The Nelly Berman School of Music is a private community school founded in 1983. Through music, the school aims to awaken the natural creative instincts of its students and help develop each student's sense of individuality, self-esteem and responsibility. By taking a goal-oriented and disciplined approach, the school provides a serious yet fun and well-rounded musical education in a warm, supportive school environment that engages the students and their families.
The Nelly Berman School Classical Music Institute (NBSCMI) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit created in 1994 by Nelly Berman to support gifted and hardworking students through a merit-based scholarship program and provide support for student chamber groups and music ensembles. Additionally, the Institute presents high-level classical concerts, masterclasses, and workshops to the greater Philadelphia community.
The Nelly Berman School of Music/NBSCMI in Haverford, PA has an opening for a part-time (20 hours a week) Administrative assistant who will work closely with the Director and the School Administrator in a fast-paced and energetic environment to help with scheduling, communicating with teachers and students, updating the school website and creating promotional materials. The applicant should have strong computer skills, writing skills and interest in promoting quality music education.
Responsibilities- Provide service to students, families, and teachers by phone, e-mail, and in person at the school
- Update and maintain NBS website (via Word Press)
- Create concert programs and flyers (via Canva)
- Update and maintain social media accounts
- Create promotional material and newsletters with the Director
- Experience in professional office setting, preferably in arts or education
- Experience with Google Workspace (Canva, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.)
- Experience with social media (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, You Tube, etc.) strongly desired
- Must be organized, responsible, and detail-oriented
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Must be able to multitask and work in a fast paced environment
- Must be an excellent problem solver in regards to scheduling, technology, organization, communication, and beyond
Hours:
Part-Time, 20 hours per week (within the regular office hours of 11:00 - 7:00, Monday-Friday
Benefits: BONUS based on performance.
Salary Range: $17- $19/hour, based on experience
